GURU V/S TEACHER
A teacher takes responsibility of your growth
A Guru makes you responsible for your growth
A teacher gives you things you do not have and require
A Guru takes away things you have and do not require
A teacher answers your questions
A Guru questions your answers
A teacher helps you get out of the maze
A Guru destroys the maze
A teacher requires obedience and discipline from the pupil
A Guru requires trust and humility from the pupil
A teacher clothes you and prepares you for the outer journey
A Guru strips you naked and prepares you for the inner journey
A teacher is a guide on the path
A Guru is a pointer to the way
A teacher sends you on the road to success
A Guru sends you on the road to freedom
A teacher explains the world and its nature to you
A Guru explains yourself and your nature to you
A teacher makes you understand how to move about in the world
A Guru shows you where you stand in relation to the world
A teacher gives you knowledge and boosts your ego
A Guru takes away your knowledge and punctures your ego
A teacher instructs you
A Guru constructs you
A teacher sharpens your mind
A Guru opens your mind
A teacher shows you the way to prosperity
A Guru shows the way to serenity
A teacher reaches your mind
A Guru touches your soul
A teacher gives you knowledge
A Guru makes you wise
A teacher gives you maturity
A Guru returns you to innocence
A teacher instructs you on how to solve problems
A Guru shows you how to resolve issues
A teacher is a systematic thinker
A Guru is a lateral thinker
A teacher will punish you with a stick
A Guru will punish you with compassion
A teacher is to pupil what a father is to son
A Guru is to pupil what mother is to her child
One can always find a teacher
But a Guru has to find and accept you
A teacher leads you by the hand
A Guru leads you by example
When a teacher finishes with you,
you graduate
When a Guru finishes with you,
you celebrate
When the course is over you are thankful to the teacher
When the discourse is over you are grateful to the Guru

TOP OF THE WORLD
Such a feeling comin over me
There is wonder in most everything I see
Not a cloud in the sky got the sun in my eyes
And I won’t be surprised if it’s a dream
Everything I want the world to be
Is now coming true especially for me
And the reason is clear
Its because your are here
You’re the nerest thing to heaven that ive seen
I am on the top of the world looking down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that ive found ever since uve been around
Your love’s put me on the top of the world.
Something in the wind has learned my name
And its telling that things are not the same
In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze
There’s a pleasing sense of happiness for me
There is only one wish on my mind
When this day is through I hope that I will find
That tomorrow will be just the same for u and me
All I need will be mine if your are here!

Ashtalakshmi 1
The first form of Lakshmi is Adi Lakshmi i.e. Knowledge of the Self. How many years have you been alive so far think about it,how many years of your life have passed so for 30yrs-40yrs-50yrs, how many more yrs are you going to be here on this planet. But have you ever paused and thought where did I come formm where am I going to go, what is my source.Knowledge of your source is Adilakshmi. If you notice the entire basic course revolves around the ashtlakshmi.
Adilakshmi only comes to the seekers. Now look how many seekers are there on this planet right now .How many people out of 6 and half billion are actually interested in knowing the purpose of life. In some forms everyone has these ashtalakshmi’s but the degree varies from person to person. To enhance this Adilakshmi in our life.
For those who are on this path your journey has already began you just have to follow it through. Spending time with knowledge gives rise to adilakshmi.Spending time with your personal sadhana or your personal practices gives rise to Adilakshmi. We all want to be knowledgeable but yet we do not want to spend time with what gives us knowledge, isn’t it. Everyone is eager to give our pearls of wisdom wherever we can yet we have never taken some time to go deep within us and enhance that sampatthi that wealth within us.
So first and foremost is Adilakshmi does not come to everyone also…only a handful will get it and here right now you already have it if not you would not have made it this far also, it is not possible. So you can pat your back…well done.
Knowledge of the self …what can we do to know ourself more.Doing more of your spiritual practices, everyday spending a little time with some knowledge.Guruji has given so much of knowledge isn’t it.You can name, anything you want to know it is available. Nachiketa who was blessed with the wisdom of death he spend several years following the lord of death to receive this knowledge and Sri Sri comes and just gives it to you in the book Wisdom for the new Millenium in the topics- ‘Death & Beyond and Karma & Reincarnation’.
What took Nachiketa several years following Yama to recive a knowledge is given to us just like that yet we have never taken time to go deep into this knowledge. What adilakshmi does is takes away the fear of life & death. The more you enhance adi lakshmi in life the more fear goes away from you.Have you noticed many of us have fear of death, fear of losses, that fear goes away. Those who have adilakshmi they will radiate with smile, they will be so free and happy in the moment.Lack of adi lakshmi is what brings fear in your life.
The more we attend to this wealth of knowledge about the self the more we will be away from the fear of life, the more we are free and we can live and enjoy our life also. Fear and anxiety hampers the progress of your life. By enhancing this wealth in our life we attain that fearless state of mind as well. So spending a little time everyday reading some knowledge, some meditation everyday, do whatever connects you to the self. What can give you the knowledge of the self is the self alone. The more we associate ourselves with the self; more the knowledge of the self arises also.
Now look at our life, how much are we caught in the external environment that sometimes we completely loose the touch with ourself so caught up in the external of our life. That is when fear and anxiety comes also. The moement you shun that outside, come back to your self you meditate sometieme. You come out of Sudarshanakriya what happens, a complete state of fearlessness isn’t it just calm and everything is still inside you.Adi lakshmi is awakened in that state:)
Diwali & Ashtalakshmi ....Intro
Diwali is another wonderful occasion to be grateful to the Master for all that life has to offer.Diwali is a festival of lights. We celebrate the triumph of good over the evil. Its significance is laid out in the sanskrit verse 'Asatoma Sadgamaya Tamasoma JyotirGamaya, Mrityorma AmritamGamaya Om Shanti Sahnti Shanti!. Which means lead us from falsehood to truth, from darkness to light, from death to immortality. This is a time for celebration and contemplation. When we remember those who are less fortunate. Those who may not be eating as heartily or celebrating as festively.Share the blessings that you enjoy this Diwali.

I was browsing through the you tube videos yesterday for i wanted to know about Ashtalakshmi and guess what. I came across an absolutely fantastic series of videos by Dushyant Savadia who is an International Art of Living Faculty.
Snippets of the Video....Enjoy!Ashtalakshmi by Gurudev in the words of a Devotee...
It’s a very sacred and a hidden knowledge and this knowledge was revealed by Guruji many years ago and somehow it is not spread to man y people because the more it is sacred the more it is secret and today millions of people the fortunate few are able to receive the knowledge at the right time. Guruji has been an embodiment of this knowledge very rare to be found on this planet. As an instrument I am sharing this.
Lets understand what is Lakshmi first. Within India itself there are so many different religions, within Hinduism and Jainism there are so many castes and sects but regardless every culture prays to Lakshmi. In westernized format Lakshmi is prayed in different ways.In Sanskrit Lakshya means the goal. Lakshmi means the one which assists you to go to your goal. The one which carries you to the goal. Lakshmi has 8 forms.8 forms by which one can reach to the goal.
Goal is Narayana or the self or conciousness.Ashtalakshmi is the 8 ways to reach to the goal.8 mediums of reaching to the divine. And that is why in India also in the Hindu religion Lakshmi is always placed at the feet of Narayana because if you have Lakshmi, Narayana also comes with it and if you follow Narayana Lakshmi has no choice but to be there also. Whichever is easier?
To reach Narayana is sometimes difficult to automatically go into consciousness’ and meditate and reach to the self so we take support of Lakshmi to reach to the self. So what are these 8 forms.....

Learning Malayalam....
Hey I have started to read and write Malayalam.Today was my first lesson. I have learnt the first alphabet "AA" in Malayalam.Malayalam is my Mother Tongue. It is a member of the Dravidian family of Languages. Malayalam alphabet Malayalam
Origin
Malayalam first appeared in writing in the vazhappalli inscription which dates from about 830 AD. In the early thirteenth century the Malayalam script began to develop from a script known as vattezhuthu (round writing), a descendant of the Brahmi script. Malayalam is also regularly written with a version of the Arabic script by Muslims in Singapore and Malaysia, and occasionally by Muslims in Kerala.
Malayalam, a Dravidian language with about 35 million speakers. It is spoken mainly in the south west of India, particularly in Kerala, the Laccadive Islands and neighboring states, and also in Bahrain, Fiji, Israel, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore, UAE and the UK.
When we start to study a language, first we have to learn to write and pronounce the alphabets. After that, we have to study to write and practice different words which include those alphabets. It really feels like ive become a child all over again ..back to school. ....wow!
Now i will be practicing it everyday and one day before my next visit to Kerala i can confidently read the names of different areas in Kerala on the bus name plate without help? Now i am sure that would be really an achievement, isn't it:)
By the way MALAYALAM is the only language which can be pronounced in the same way, whether you read it from left to right or rihgt to left ....cool na!
Guruji’s Diwlali Message during Dhanteras in Rajkot Gujrat
There are different kinds of prosperity not just of wealth(Samruddhi). Some people have lots of money but they are always unhappy. Take a Sankalpa and pray for the happiness of everyone. That’s the real wealth.Air, Earth and Time are also wealth. Utilize this wealth of Time properly.Gyan ka Dhan. One who relishes the wealth of knowledge he can reach the divine.Havan Se Samruddhi Hote Hain.
Sabke Man Mein Prasannatha Jaag Uthathe Hai.Prasing the divine forces through yagyas and Dana- sharing.Sabka Sanman Karte Karte Atma Mein Vishram Karna Dhyan Hain. Guruji then spoke about Bramhanaad where 1200 Sitarists performed on one platform and Antarnaad where 2700 Hindustani Classical Vocalists performed in the presence of Poojya Gurudev.
